2 x BAT FOR LASHES
A couple of tracks from English singing songwriter and
multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan, better known as
:: BAT FOR LASHES ::
off her new album // The Bride // due out July 1st. As the
title suggests, it centers around the story of jilted love brought
about through the death of one woman's fiancé who is killed
in a car crash whilst on his way to their wedding. The bride
decides to escape with her emotional angst to fly solo on the
honeymoon. The songs travel along the inner mental highway
to the inevitable destinations marked loss, but there is a certain
gift in amongst the scenery, as we start out with the hope filled
first track off the album // I Do // before the vaguely demonic
// In God's House // as feminine intuition kicks in. Will there be
a musical stage show written by 50% of ABBA? If this is
despair, I'm buying it.
