...celebrating yesterday's release of experimental indie band

...hauntingly beautiful yet unusual homage to David Lynch's surreal show
// Twin Peaks // with the album // Xiu Xiu Plays The Music of Twin Peaks //
coming on the back of a commissioned performance the band were asked to
do by Lynch that formed part of the exhibition: // David Lynch: Between
Two Worlds // that took place at the Gallery of Modern Art, Australian,
between 14 March & 7 June, 2015 ...the group itself is an extravagance
of unusual, having been formed, in 2002, by singing songwriter // Jamie
Stewart // as an experimental noise pop band ...up until 2009, he was the
only member before being joined by // Angela Seo // ...it is no surprise,
given their complimentary personality's, that Lynch chose this band to
musically reinterpret his show's theme songs ...depending on how you
feel about the day you are having, you can listen to a couple of tracks
off the album, but it is interesting to watch the following videos to gain a
feel for the progression of the project, along with being able to appreciate
the live performances of the talented duo, but can I call them interpretive
noise, or experimental classical? ...perhaps I'll stick with experiMENTAL?
